Parasailing Record Attempt in support of Sir Bobby Robson Foundation
Sir Bobby Robson is a highly respected man inside and outside the game of football. As well as his
football achievements, he has had to fight cancer on several occasions over the last 15 years.
Now retired from football management at the age of 75, he has established The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation to create a Research Centre which will focus on the early detection and treatment of cancer and
the clinical trials of new drugs that will eventually beat it.
My next charity challenge is to raise £5,000 to support a man that I respect and admire along with millions
of others around the World.
On Saturday 26th July 2008, I shall attempt to parasail for the first time in my life. I aim to stay
airborne for approximately 1 hour, covering a distance of some 8 miles from the Humber Bridge to Paull.
The event is being staged in association with Steve and Jill Webb from Humber Parascending, the only parasailing centre in England.
It is believed that this may be a UK distance and duration record for a disabled person.

Abseiling from the TyneBridge
In January 2007, I wanted to take part in a TyneBridge abseil event for charity, but was told I couldn't do so.
Remember that when anyone tells me I can't do something, it's like a "Red Rag To A Bull" and I'm determined to show them that I can.
While it wasn’t possible to take part on that occasion, I was able to do so in an event run in
May 2007 organised by Disabiity North, a Newcastle-based charity helping disabled people, and over £500 was raised.

My condition, Spina Bifida, means that I have
no feeling in my feet and I couldn't walk on hot embers anyway. But I can do it on my hands!
Aurora Foundation, a charity supporting disadvantaged
children in CountyDurham, held a fundraising event on
Newcastle Quayside. At a temperature in excess of 1200 degrees fahrenheit, 4 times the temperature at which skin burns,
30 people, including yours truly, traversed the 20 foot path of glowing embers.
